We have been roasting and brewing some of the finest coffee since 1992, embracing the SCAA philosophy that "great coffee doesn't just happen". We carefully select beans from around the world, roast the beans according to profile, create blends, and conduct small batch roasting to maintain a selection of freshly roasted beans. Our standard is never sell coffee more than two weeks old. Any inventory of coffee roasted for longer than 2 weeks is donated to Brother Dan's Food Pantry.
Owner Bob Keedy trained in New York City and was the roaster for 15 years. He had three people apprentice under him including our head roaster, Chuckie Grooters. Chuckie has been roasting since 2007 and continues his education by taking classes around the country and is a member of the SCAA Roasters Guild. In 2015 we brought in Hillary Davis, a ten year barista, to train as the assistant roaster. Her skill and knowledge about brewing and tasting coffee has made her a quick study at the craft of roasting. She is a member of the Baristas Guild and the Roasters Guild.
We source our green beans from two reputable wholesalers - Cafe Imports and Theta Ridge Coffee. Wtih their help we offer a wide variety of high quality coffees.
In-house we brew 5 varieties of coffee daily, rotating our offerings among our supply of coffee sourced from countries all over the world. You can sample the world each day by drinking our daily brews. If you want your favorite origin we also offer expertly made French press coffees.
Our highly trained baristas would love to make you a cappuccino or espresso, or any of our many specialty mochas or lattes. For those of you who prefer a little sweetness and flavor we offer syrups from Northwoods Soda Company. Northwoods Soda custom makes our syrups with real cane sugar in small batches. We are known for our extensive beverage menu that includes such favorites as the Zen, Milky Way Mocha, and The Accidental Tourist.
We are proud to partner with two local businesses supplying our coffee for their craft products. Northwoods Soda makes Espresso Root Beer with our espresso and Beards Brewery makes Malabar Black IPA with our Indian Monsoon Malabar coffee. And Roast & Toast coffee is exclusively served at City Park Grill and Palette Bistro restaurants.
