Mariah

master roaster | barista since 2014

Mariah was hired as a busser in 2014 and trained as a barista that same year. She is now a shift leader and part of the roasting team. Mariah has taken a number of SCA barista and roaster classes. When Mariah isn’t at work she is most likely traveling to a concert with close friends, spending time with her dog, singing karaoke at sister restaurant City Park Grill, or watching/participating in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Can you tell she and Skylar are best friends? Most likely to be found in her mug is some delicious fresh roasted black coffee, or when she’s feeling fancy, an almond milk cortado.

Ben

general manager | partner since 2004

Ben Walker enjoyed Roast & Toast long before taking an official role on the team. After visiting so frequently (often in the “kissing booth” as a young lad) the Keedys invited him to start working. Fast forward 15 years, Ben is now general manager and partner.

Jenni

shift leader since 2013

Jenni joined the team in 2013 as a barista, and is now a shift leader. She has taken classes to expand her (and our) coffee knowledge. When not at work, Jenni can often be found walking on local trails, curled up with her cats and a good book, crafting, or spending the day exploring the different restaurants that northern Michigan has to offer. Jenni’s mug is usually filled with a soy latte or a fresh roasted black coffee.

Joyce

McLaren Medical Office Building manager since 2017

Joyce was hired in 2017 as a barista and is now the manager at the McLaren Medical Office Building location. During her time away from work, Joyce is most likely playing with her bunnies, jamming and singing some tunes with friends including karaoke at sister restaurant City Park Grill, or watching, directing, and/or participating in Rocky Horror Picture Show. You’ll most likely find a six shot (yes, you read that right) mocha in her mug.
